My concept… Feel Happy !

Atsuko Matano is a multi-talented Japanese artist — designer, illustrator, and writer — widely recognized and loved by many fans! She began her career in 1979 as a designer for the gift shop Pandora’s Box. Six years later, in 1985, she founded La Merise, where she developed her unique signature style. Around the same time, she also started writing novels. In 1986, she launched the Atsuko Matano brand while continuing to work as a designer for various other brands. In 2000, she took the lead in opening the first Towel Museum, which highlights the art of the Japanese towel. Alongside this, she continued writing novels with a playful, childlike universe.
